Over the weekend, there were three mass shootings; one in El Paso, TX, one in Dayton, OH, and one in Chicago, IL. My heart is breaking for all those families who lost a loved one to this senseless act of terrorism! Yes, let's call it what it is...domestic terrorism! Mass shootings are not a new thing, unfortunately; they've been happening since the 1920's, at least. However, they seem to be "trending", lately. Killing should never be a trend, people!! Every single time we endure a mass shooting, the first thing that people talk about is mental health reform; and, although that is definitely something we need, proper therapy and treatments aren't going to stop rageaholics from being violent! I've noticed that a lot of folks are Constitution crazy, lately (myself included); and, our government seems to be trying their best to destroy the democracy , to which We the People are entitled. But, what about the Declaration of Independence ? No one ever mentions that document, anymore. And it's just as relevant today, as it was in 1776! Excerpt - “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men ( “men” should be changed to “citizens”, because women matter too ) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Let's explore this for a minute…. Everyone knows what rights are; but do you know what unalienable means? It means "not transferable to another, or not capable of being taken away, or denied; inalienable".
