Who's Side Are You On?

Everyone already knows Trump is going to be the Republican nominee, for President. So I'm going to focus this blog entry on the Democratic race. If you're a Democrat, or are planning on voting Dem, please read this! If you're a registered Republican, you're welcome to read it, as well. I don't fly party flags, or discriminate against either party.

I was Team Pete, until it was disclosed that he was courting big money donors; that was a massive disappointment to me! I’ve been following the other candidates, as well; and am also disappointed that all but one of the women have dropped out of the race. Tulsi Gabbard is still running, but not getting much coverage; I won’t be surprised if she drops out, before the Democratic National Convention.

Of the two remaining men, I’m all about Bernie Sanders; Joe Biden is part of the Establishment, and I am anti-Establishment; not anti-government...anti-Establishment. I have been, most of my life. Biden has big money donors (Corporate America), funding his campaign; Bernie’s campaign is being funded by We the People. Joe has a flip-flop voting record, on issues he is now saying he cares about...Social Security, Medicare, etc. He voted for NAFTA, which cost our country thousands of jobs; and hurt the economy!

Bernie has spent his entire political career fighting for our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; he’s a modern day FDR. He’s only running as a Democrat, because the powers that be insist that there only be two political parties in charge of the government. He’s a Democratic Socialist; and before you have an aneurysm over the word “socialist”, it’s not as bad as the spin doctors have told us it is.

Bernie believes that We the People have the right to live the American Dream; it’s not a lifestyle meant exclusively for the uber wealthy. Do you believe that? He also knows that the only way we will ever get a bigger slice of the pie, is for the Billionaire Class to stop eating so much of it, themselves! Sharing out of our abundance is how everyone benefits!

Think about it, this way...if Bloomberg burning half a BILLION dollars (that’s a lot of money!) on his failed campaign isn’t enough evidence that the Billionaire Class is able to fund the social programs Bernie Sanders calls for, without even breaking a sweat, then I don’t know what is! We the People have the right to live our lives, be secure in liberty, and pursue our own brand of happiness!! Keeping the status quo is not giving us the opportunities we need; it’s time to dismantle the Establishment, and take back OUR government!!

Margaret Thatcher once said, "The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." and she was right; except she wasn’t talking about the money from the Billionaire Class. She was talking about the Middle Class; and yes, if the Middle Class and Working Poor are the ones funding Socialism, we absolutely will run out of money, eventually.

That’s not what Bernie is about, though; if he becomes the next President, he intends to impose a wealth tax on the Billionaire Class, so that they will contribute to the nation's revenue. With that money, we absolutely can provide a better life for the Middle Class; and the Working Poor, as well. And we won’t run out of their money, any time soon! Consider this...suppose you had one billion dollars. You could spend $5,000 a day for more than 500 years, before you would run out of money.

The Establishment  (in the 60s, it was called “The Man”) are the ones who want to keep the poor from living the American Dream; they’re also the ones destroying the Middle Class, causing the Working Poor to become a bigger class than before! The Establishment are against progress, on any level; they’re afraid of it, Republican and Democrat, alike! They’re the ones who want to remain in power, because they like being powerful; they don’t truly care about We the People!

If you’re one of those people who pats themselves on the back, for donating to your local charity (good job, by the way!), but you’re against programs like universal healthcare, living wages, college for all, universal pre-K/daycare, etc; then you do not love your country...you love Establishment Politics! Please WAKE UP!!

  • He believes in the Green New Deal
  • He believes that all citizens have the right to quality healthcare
  • He believes in immigration reform
  • He believes that all who call the United States their home have the right to a quality college education
  • He believes in workplace democracy
  • He believes that all who call the United States their home have the right to safe and affordable housing
  • He’s going to expand Social Security
  • He believes that all working families have the right to put their kids in daycare and Pre-K
  • He’s going to end the for-profit prison system
  • He’s going to eliminate the medical debt of some 79 million Americans. You could be one of them!
  • He’s going to re-invest in public schools; because even poor kids deserve a decent education
  • He believes in free and fair elections
  • He’s going to get Corporate America to stop buying our elected officials
  • He believes in Fair Trade; and is going to rewrite all of our trade deals, so they can’t outsource American jobs

Do yourself a favor….go to his campaign website and READ about these points!! Bernie’s America is the America We the People deserve to live in!!

It was in meme form, and it said “name a historical myth you wish people would stop spreading as fact”; some of the comments were golden!!
